Alexa and Ben’s wedding at The Resort at Longboat Key Club on Longboat Key, Florida was the definition of coastal romance, blending timeless elegance with thoughtful personal touches. From the moment guests arrived at the serene Banyan Cove for the Ceremony to the grand finale in a sailcloth tent on South Beach, the entire day was both stunning and heartfelt.

The Ceremony was held beneath the sweeping boughs of the banyan trees, where light blue accents and lush greenery brought Alexa and Ben’s “coastal chic” vision to life. “The best part of our wedding day was the Ceremony—it was absolutely stunning,” they shared. “The florals were gorgeous, our friends and family were so happy for us, and the weather was absolutely perfect. We felt that time really did stand still the moment we made it official.”

Cocktail Hour took place on the Lagoon Lawn with a round white bar from Palacios as the centerpiece and signature cocktails—Tequila Espresso Martinis and Aperol Spritzes—that guests are still talking about. As the sun dipped below the horizon, everyone made their way to a fully floored tent right on the sand, where alternating tablescapes featuring luxe BBJ La Tavola linens, stunning chargers, and a chic mix of rentals from Palacios and Oak & Ash created a truly magical setting. “We thought our wedding day was even more amazing than we could have dreamed it would be,” the couple said. “Everything was absolutely stunning and our guests truly had the best weekend.”

Alexa and Ben’s wedding day was layered with meaningful details—like a bubble send-off to close out the night and a ceremony that honored both of their upbringings. “Ben grew up with a Christian faith whereas Alexa grew up Jewish. We worked endlessly with our officiant (Ben's family's pastor from their church in the suburbs of Chicago) to help us incorporate significant aspects of our faith's marriage ceremonies. This allowed us to feel perfectly ourselves on the most important day of our lives.”

The couple’s connection to the venue made it all the more special. “Alexa's parents have a condo at L'Ambiance, right next to The Resort at Longboat Key Club. We spent the early days of our relationship there together and it was a safe haven during the end of the pandemic. We wanted to get married in a place that felt like home to us and in a place that we could always return to for the rest of our lives to reminisce on our perfect wedding day.”

When it came to the planning process, Alexa and Ben knew they were in good hands with MDP Events. “From our initial call with Lauren, we knew that MDP Events was going to help us make all of our wedding day dreams come true. She made us feel at ease and excited about the prospect of planning our wedding, and took away all of the stress that we thought was going to come along with it. We looked forward to our calls with Lauren because it was the most fun hour filled with laughs and dreaming.” The feeling was mutual—our team absolutely loved working with Alexa and Ben to bring their vision to life. From their warm personalities to their thoughtful attention to detail, every part of the planning journey with them was a joy. Watching their dream weekend unfold on the sand was truly a highlight of our season.
